Our
Story

In a nutshell, our family develops barrel horses on a small scale, with our seventeen year old daughter, Timber Cote, at the helm. She is the jockey and primary trainer in the leathers. She has a good circle of support that helps her pursue her goals. She wants to expand her program, continue to compete and essentially become a professional trainer and competitor. As a family, we recognize the demand of time, dedication, talent, and financial requirements needed to be successful in this industry. All the while, Timber creates ways to not only fund her efforts but give back to the great people and industry that she feels helps shape her into the horsewoman she is striving to become. Consequently this desire spurred on the idea of our Gimme Five Project.

Get to Know Us

The Gimme Five Project is an idea that was born in the front seat of our pickup, discussed over miles and miles while we hauled down the road to competitions and rodeos.  There was a multifaceted niche we wanted to fill.  We are excited to give people in the equine and rodeo industry an opportunity to give back all while supporting each other and the western way of life.

How it works...

We are designing trendy t-shirts (and other merchandise such as sweatshirts, hats, wild rags etc.) that uniquely display art and motivational words.  There are four cool aspects to this project.

Color Paint Palette

Cool Aspect #1~Each design will display a piece of western art. We love the idea of providing a platform to feature great and aspiring artists and get them out to great folks who can show off their work on a unique shirt!

Man in the Mist

Cool Aspect #2~Along with the art, there will be a quote from someone notable from various facets of the equine, barrel racing or rodeo industry. It could be a mantra that person is known for, an inspirational message, or even something lighthearted and funny. The person quoted will get to choose a cause or charity that they want to support. It could be a family in need, a young competitor or a national organization-the possibilities are endless. For every piece that sells, $5 will be donated directly to that cause. This represents the first "gimme five."

School Application

Cool Aspect #3~The second $5 donation from the shirt sale will be donated to The Gimme Five Project Scholarship Fund. Gimme Five Scholarship Fund monies will be used toward expanding skill and knowledge in the field of horsemanship, training and competition endeavors. For example, attending a riding or horsemanship clinic, private lessons with a notable trainer, help toward tack upgrades, entry fees or travel money to get to an unreachable event etc. Every year, we will ask for applicants for this scholarship program and our family will vet and choose the recipient. This is the second "gimme five."

Cool Aspect #4~The remaining profit will help Timber build her business. This will not only provide her an entrepreneurial outlet to support herself, but it will give her an opportunity to build a network and learn to manage another facet of her business. We believe this industry is a beautiful collection of people helping people and a great environment for all to foster growth on this road of life.
